The Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta) at Universitas Kebangsaan Republik Indonesia (UKRI) and PT Corresco Seeds Indonesia have sealed a strategic partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to advance joint research in corn seed development. The ceremony, held at the PT INTI Building on Friday, July 4, 2025, was officiated by Irman Hariman, Head of the Cooperation Bureau.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Dr. Heni Haryani, S.Pd., M.Hum., Vice Rector III for Student Affairs, Suhaeri, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., Dean of Faperta, M. Arief A Bisma, along with representatives from the Agrotechnology and Agribusiness Study Programs. Representing PT Corresco Seeds Indonesia were Chief Executive Officer Febri Hendrayana and Chief Business Officer Ranie Dewiyanti.
Dr. Heni Haryani hailed the partnership as a critical step toward fulfilling the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi—higher education’s threefold mission of education, research, and community service. “This collaboration will deliver impactful research outcomes that benefit society at large,” she stated.
Febri Hendrayana explained that PT Corresco Seeds Indonesia has developed approximately 11 corn varieties through seed research, contributing to seed independence and sovereignty to support national food security. “The Bhayangkara variety, showcased at a recent corn harvest event, is one of the results of our collaborative research with a university in Bandung,” he noted.
Dean of Faperta UKRI, M. Arief A Bisma, emphasized that this MoA reflects UKRI’s commitment to supporting corn seed independence through collaborative research. “We are optimistic that this partnership will deliver significant benefits for all parties involved,” he said.
This collaboration is expected to strengthen agricultural innovation, particularly in corn seed development, while supporting the vision of national food security.
